Apolda provides a personal, backyard experience for my dogs. I like that it is literally in a guy's backyard, and Ken (the owner) is really nice. When we moved to the area, I was worried about finding another kennel that had what I wanted (indoor/outdoor runs, AC) and that I could trust. I've had previous bad experience with kennels where my dogs have come back acting weird/drugged. This has never happened at Apolda and my dogs actually like going there. In response to "Jennifer", no, it's not a pampered palace, but fancy promises are not always better. One time I boarded my dog at a place where a "dog limo" came and picked them up. When they brought them back, my lab was so wacked out he tried to jump on the hood of the car (he is arthritic and has to be helped into my own car!) It was completely out of character. Also, many places do not have an outdoor space and dogs are left at the mercy of whoever to let them out for bathroom breaks. As a high school teacher, I also lear
