Horrible experience. Booked on-line, was told I'd get a call from the service person to discuss my job. Did not receive that call, only an automated reminder. I called the 800 number, was told I would get a quote prior to them performing the service. I was nervous about the price changing - this is a rental house and I can't spend a lot of money. My husband had called and spoken with the 800# and described our exact set-up. Given window of 11-3. Got call at about 9:30 saying they'd be there in 20 min. Told them we could do that. We called back at 10:50, were told they had taken another job and would be heading my way in 15 min. At 12:55 I got a VM saying they were on their way. They arrived at 2:10. Immediately we were told it would be more. The guy mis-read what I'd written about our tile. Tried to pitch ADDITIONAL services right away. Had to call to confirm the deal my husband had been told on the phone. Finally did the calculation and came up with what we'd been quoted total - but without carpet or sealing. Offered to ""throw in"" about a 1 ft sq accent area of tile for free. Gee, thanks. Told him we didn't want his services. He left without a word. His assistant was at least nice enough to apologize. A neighbor had come over to ask for him to look at his house. When they left our house, they weren't even polite enough to move their van out of our drivewey. Note: the neighbor didn't use them either. NEVER AGAIN WILL I ATTEMPT TO USE STANLEY STEEMER.
