Avoid the Gandolfo's on South Virginia these days if you don't want exactly what is printed on the ""how to prepare a sandwich"" cards the employees follow. Used to love going there daily before they closed down. I hear they re-opened so I stopped by today to check it out.\r

My Order: Rockefeller Reuben, Corned Beef, Russian, Double Meat, and GRILL IT.\r
\r
They got everything except the grilling part right. Grilling isn't on the ""How to make a Reuben"" card taped to the Microwave. Hey, they toasted the bread at least.. Yay.. Unfortunately that has no effect on a microwaved sandwich.\r
\r
Normally they use Microwaves to cook their hot sandwiches. The reason I ask for it grilled is so I don't end up with an ice cold patch of meat in the middle of my sandwich. Grilling ensures the meat is heated through completely. Grilling also ensures a lot of the juices from the kraut and meat is burned off, so I don't end up with bread that feels like it got dunked in a toilet. Soggy sloppy mess.\r
\r
If I wanted some microwaved meat between 2 slices of bread I WOULD NOT HAVE SPECIFICALLY STATED TO THE STONER CASHIER TWICE THAT I WANTED IT GRILLED. I can put some microwaved meat together at my office for a hell of a lot cheaper than $12.\r
\r
They could have had a daily customer, but employee incompetence leads me to want to spend my money elsewhere. I'll never waste 12 bucks here again.\r

If the place is still owned by Kevin and his wife, I'm sorry to post this. They're good people and they used to run a great shop, but the current employees are barely more trained than monkeys. If it's not still owned by them, then the new owners need to pull their heads out of their asses and teach their employees what ""Customer Service"" means.
