I am fortunate in that I am well healed enough to be able to enjoy fine dinning experiences in my travel and I have traveled extensively. On a recent break from work my wife and I took a road trip just to relax and drove back roads the entire trip. I don't know how many of you will have the opportunity to find yourself in Coldwater Michigan but if you do and you do not make it a point to staop in at the Boathouse Restaurant on Coldwater lake you will be missing something special. If you go, and you really should, make reservsations for the Upper Deck. My wife and I both ordered and thoroughly enjoyed the Chef's Selection off the dinner menu. This was truly a fine dinning experience that I will remember for a long time. The wait were wonderfull. A young lady named Carrie was working our table and she did a splendid job. The owner was a beautiful Lady and very charming. But in the end you can not possibly go without complementing the Chef's. I would be remiss to not provide you with the culinary trats we enjoyed. We started with a spectacular House Salad with a home made Red Wine Shallot Dressing. Next was a Fresh pan Seared Trout with toasted Almonds followed by the Black Angus Ribeye with a Potato Puree that was GREAT! These Chef's are clearly preparing food at a 5 star level and they make your dinning a treat worth your while. Please go to the Boathouse if you want to experience great food, great atmosphere and great people. Make no mistake this is a white linen table not a local crab shack. Again we ate at the Upper Deck. I can not speak to the food for the Lower Deck but for casual dinning if it remotely compares to it's better half up stairs it should be good. My Complements to the Chef and do yourself a favor...Try this restaurant you will be happy.
