Sears reinventing itself to be first class retailer 8/18/2011

We looked around for kitchen appliances at the big box stores and were unimpressed. We checked out Sears and found they had a sale. We bought all our appliances plus washer and dryer back in May 2011. They seem serious about customer support and apparently all of their delivery people are trained in operating the appliances they deliver. Sears called us for feedback on the deliveries asking us to rate them. One delivery was late prompting a rep to offer us coupons. In an area notorious for contractors coming late and other retail stores being somewhat ethically challenged, it's a pleasure to deal with a company that actually puts things in writing, specifies delivery dates and backs up their products. I think management lost their way some years ago but now seem to be on the right track. Since moving to Sarasota, we've been very disappointed with a number of firms that treat customers almost as ""marks"" for a scam. Dealing with Sears is a pleasant change. more
