We used Elephant Moving recently and were very unhappy. This is our second long distance move, but the first with Elephant moving. Anyone who has moved knows how stressful it can be, and even more stressful when moving long distance. We were very limited on time, so we just went with the first company that responded. I have never written an bad review, or any kind of review, but I feel in this case, the service was so poor, I need to write a review. Plus, after speaking to the company after receiving our belongings, I don't believe the responses from the company to other bad reviews as to the reasons for the bad service complained about in complaints posted. To start off, the initial conversations with Elephant Movers was fine and pleasant. We did have more stuff than we thought, so we were not surprised our charge was more than the estimate. That part (the estimate) was written out in the agreement and discussed when we booked Elephant Moving. We needed out stuff to arrive by a certain time and we asked when our belongings needed to be picked up so it would arrive by then. They told us a date, and our stuff was picked up and sent away. The people picking up the stuff were very friendly and polite. We paid with a money order, as stated that we could pay with, with no problems. The delivery was a nightmare. We tried reaching the company over 4 times because we did not receive our belongings when we were told we would. Each time, we were told we would get a call back, but we never did. Then the actual person delivering our belongings gave us a very difficult time when we handed him a money order. He said they ""only accept cash"". Which is clearly NOT what we were told. When We told him that we paid the people who picked up our stuff with a money order, he said ""That's a different person"". After arguing for over half an hour, he agreed to take the money order. The delivery went ok. Then when we got the response about why the delivery was late, we were VERY ANGRY. We were told it was our fault since we wanted our belongings picked up by a certain date. THAT IS NOT TRUE. WE NEVER SAID THAT. We wanted the delivery by a certain date NOT the pick up, and we even asked them when they needed the belongings picked up. We were ready on the date THEY TOLD US. ALso, why did no one tell us that the other 4 times we called? I guess someone there made up that part of the call to cover themselves. We thought about calling and complaining, but we knew they would just say we were lying. We don't want anything to do with this company ever again. I'm sure they will respond with another lie and say it's our fault, and not theirs as they did with every other negative post on this site. more
