Was treated to this place for the first time Friday night and it was busy and a tourist trap I'm sure, but we still had a pleasant experience nonetheless! My friend and I were given a buzzer and told the wait would be 30 minutes but our table was ready within 5, so we lucked out!\r
The upstairs bar was so cute and funky! I love the christmas lights strung up everywhere and the view of the water and boats just can't be beat. I had an extremely generously poured plastic glass of wine while we waited for our table, it was a good amount and definitely not a rip off; was pleasantly surprised with the amount given!\r
We didn't end up with a table along the water but overall we had a really enjoyable dinner. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and friendly and did a good job being attentive, even though it was busy. I had the half portion of the fried shrimp which was plenty; about 10-12 shrimp with fries. The shrimp were fresh and slightly sweet with a good light batter. You can't really screw up fried food!\r
My boyfriend had the hogfish and gave me a bite. It was extremely meaty, white, and fresh with good flavor. While it didn't seem like a large portion, it was a smaller dish with sweet potatoes and asparagus.\r
Overall I had a really nice first time experience at this restaurant and can't wait to come back! It was really cute and a good menu mix of classic bar foods like wings and soups along with classier dishes like fresh fish and seafood. Give it a try if you love Old Florida funky rustic decor and food!
