This Dealer Got the Industry Standard Scam Speach 8/16/2011

Beware of this place. I am a dealer and took a very large collection in for their `free? appraisal which was not an appraisal. It was a scam to get you in the door. I hoped I would NOT hear the standard dealer scam - try to steal it speech but sadly that is exactly what I got. On the phone I talked to Joe I think and unsolicited he told me what to expect with the stamps I had. He confirmed the market values of the stamps I had so I had hope. But when I arrived it was different with the guy I met with. I told him I was a dealer but the guy either did not believe me or could not break his scamming role. The told me my collection was ALL fillers, thins, damaged and the very POORest quality only after a short time of looking at a few hundred of the tens of thousands of stamps I brought in. He NEVER physically took any out so he musta had xray vision to see all the so-called thins in the collection. Lol Keep in mind some in this collection came out of DEALER lots and was still in the priced stock cards so I know the quality spans ALL ranges and there was some rare stuff in there. He did not look at 2/3 of the collection and only spent about 20 minutes looking thru stuff. He gave me a VERY low ball figure that was designed to steal it away from me. I really think he did not believe I was a dealer from some of his comments about why I did not act like all the other `boys? that brought in their grandfathers collections. Even my wife could tell he was a scammer and she knows nothing about stamps. Not sure why they would low ball me since it would be their best interest to take an honest look at it and put up for auction and have both of us make money off it. 2/3s of the collection sat in a bag unopened through the whole experience. The guy clearly wrote off the collection after looking at 5 stock/albums and he clearly got combative when I told him an approximate Scott value of the collection was. I know the difference between market value and scott value and this guy CLEARLY low balled the market value after looking at a fraction of the collection. He then tried to get me to auction it but why would I trust him/them? And why should I if the whole collection is so called junk or low quality? Your collection is junk but we will sell it for thousands of dollars anyway? lol The guy made no sense whatsoever. In summary it was like they were saying we only looked at a little of the collection, we are guessing at the quality but we know it is worth mere pennys on the dollar even though some of it came from dealer lots with the values on it but we will take it from you and sell it if you let us? LOL! I am a dealer and I nave seen it all and Regency lost all credibility. There is no way I would trust them after getting the standard scam speech from their employee and I am baffled how this helped them get this large dealer lot for an auction. I feel sorry for those people going in there thinking they are getting a fair shake. I was infor more
