Hattie's Fine Coffee in Corinth Square is a nifty little place. The atmosphere is peaceful, the staff helpful, and the selection is varied without being overwhelming. I must admit, I can't stand coffee, but they brewed an exceptional cup of green tea for me this morning. So good that I almost shed a tear when my cup was empty good. The selection of pastries is another admirable quality of this little gem. They have something to appeal to any taste, all of it fresh and delicious.
Hattie's is not a place you go just to get a cup of coffee, its a place you go to enjoy the experiences involved in that deeply cherished morning tradition. I'm not calling their service slow, because they aren't. They are an attentive and prompt bunch; but its definitely not a human conveyor belt type of place. While my green tea was brewing, I had time to sit down, take in the decor, listen to the sounds of cups clinking, coffee brewing, people having quiet conversations of greeting, not to mention the delightful smell of roasting coffee. It was a good experience to start my morning with, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking to get away from the Starbucks crowd.
