Dr. Newman's policy is to VIOLATE my PRIVACY by asking for my Social Security Number. When I told her it violated federal law, she called the insurance company to get verification - low and behold WITHOUT my SSN - then returned to tell me that it is her OFFICE policy, NOT the insurance company's policy (which she previously said) and told me to get another dentist!! How RUDE and UNLAWFUL! And, it was a checkup and she refused to do a cleaning! I think she must want 2 visits worth of money from the insurance company for only doing 1 visit's worth of work. Everyone should be aware of the fact that this business is not in a very safe neighborhood. It was difficult to get an ideal appointment time that fit my schedule. She literally told me to get another dentist because SHE wants my SSN! Not only that, but when I was filling out the forms, there were 2 that say I acknowledge that I have RECEIVED a copy of the 1) Privacy Policy; and 2) Patient Bill of Rights - WITHOUT RECEIVING THEM!! Poorly, poorly run business! DO NOT GO here unless you want your identity stolen and then to be robbed in the parking lot!
