After reading the review by ""FedUP, "" I felt compelled to comment on it. Unfortunately, there were so many issues to address that Citysearch did not allow me enough space in the comments section. That is the reason for this commentary.
100% irrefutable facts? Please. There are so many inaccuracies and half-truths in ""FedUp's"" review that it's hard to know where to start. How about at the heart of the dance school? Ms. Tuska is in fact a dancer herself, and has taught thousands of children over the past 20 years. She not only teaches my children, but is almost always teaching the several days a week that I am in the studio. While it's true that she does not teach many of the upper level classes, that seems like good business practice to me - she knows her limits and has brought in the best people she can find to grow her programs and challenge the dancers. Her ballet department continues to be the best around, and those employees have been with her for many years. Regarding the other employees who have left, my children took classes from one of them last year. The instructor was constantly late for class, barely communicated with parents, and began ending class 2/3 of the way through in order to work on personal projects (at least that's what my kids were told). I complained to the director, and I believe several other parents did as well. The instructor was gone shortly thereafter and a new instructor was found who showed up on time and taught my kids for their full 45-minute sessions. I would guess that the first employee didn?t leave by choice.
Being at the studio as much as I am, I also heard a lot of gossip in the hallways about many of the other employees who left. I don't know what's true and what's not, but things are not nearly as clear-cut as this reviewer states. Several of the employees were allegedly conducting themselves inappropriately. If any of what I've heard is true, I have no doubt that their employer met with them about their actions. Ms. Tuska is very aware that her business is for children, and constantly strives to create an environment that truly nurtures kids. I know her well enough to state that she would address anything she sees or hears of that might be harmful to kids. If any employees chose to leave rather than improve their personal conduct, then good riddance!
Now to the floors. Again, this reviewer is just wrong. The flooring at CSD has spring step technology and is foam loaded to provide cushioning for the more advanced dancers. The Marley floors are laid on top of this, not straight concrete.
Unfortunately I have no idea of the other issues this reviewer brings up, but based on all of the other inaccuracies, I would doubt there?s much truth in what he or she has to say.
