I spent over $2000 on a Culligan Water Softener and now in less than 4 years it needs almost $600 in maintenance. The local office says this is normal, but not only do they not tell you this when you buy it, if you call their office to inquire about buying their product and ask them about maintenance, they tell you every 7-10 years you need to replace the resin but other than that, just add salt or pellets. When I complained, I was asked if I thought it was unreasonable to spent $500 in maintenance on my car in four years. Really? Comparing a car to a water softener? A true comparsion would be to ask if I thought it unreasonable to spend $5000 in repairs on a $20,000 car in four years (or ever). Bad faith and misleading. Don't buy from them.
