This is not a place to take your vehicle. Everyone BEWARE 8/6/2011

I took my daughters car to Meineke 4/26/11 due to overheating. Sascha Atta the manager (son Samir Atta owner) said that it needed a new engine at a cost of $5000.00. I said I do not have that kind of money. He said then he could replace the water pump for $500.00 and that should take care of things temporarily but not fix everything that was wrong with the 1993 Lexus ES. I told him to do that for $500.00. He called me back later and said that he had a deal for me. For $3500.00 he would just do all of the work he said before. I said I still do not have the money. He got me to apply for a Meineke credit card for $2000.00 and I could save up my money and pay the rest when the car was done. So for the safety of my daughter and granddaughter I said ok. It took them 5 weeks to fix the car and I was out of $500.00 on a rental car. We got the car back almost the first week of June. I asked Sasha for the paper work of all that he had done and he said that he would get it to me but it wasn?t ready at that time. He told me to have my daughter drive the car for 500 miles and bring it back for an oil change which cost $40.00. After the oil change the car still over heated and shook like crazy now. I called several times complaining and still asked for the paper work and he still did not have it together and ready for me. On June 17th my daughter was driving the car and it began to smoke really badly. She pulled over near a construction site and when they lifted the hood, the car engine was on fire. The fire department was called and they put the fire out and it was towed to Meineke yet again. Still no paper work completed for the re-built engine. Sascha tried to blame my daughter for not bringing the car back when it continued to smoke. Said it was her fault. Sascha tried to say that it was the power steering pump that was bad. I immediately produced a receipt from early April showing that it was a brand new pump from Pep boys that I had installed. He said it was a faulty pump. On June 21st he told me that the fire was due to the pump leaking oil on the wires. Sascha told me to contact my insurance company. Still no paperwork completed. My insurance paid 2,931.86 for the damages. We received the car back mid July where it sat parked for 5 days with no one driving. My daughter returned from out of town got her car on a Wednesday by Sunday did not want to start and was still smoking. The car was towed back to Meineke again last week. Sasha stated that it was the spark plug wires and the distributor cap. He said that it may be due to the issue with the fire. I contacted my insurance companyl. He has still not done the paper work even though he claims to have faxed it to me. $7500.00 later the car still smokes and now will not start. And he wants more money. more
