This Sunday my family and three friends went to dinner at 503 (Typhoon was closed). We all ordered and then waited and waited (there were 4 other tables filled). We finally had our appetizers--boring clams and soggy fries with some funky balsamic glaze). NO water refills, no drinks (soft drinks) and no bread. Another 20 minutes go by and soup arrives but the waitress served it with her finger in the soup! We asked to have another bowl of soup. Another 10 minutes go by and the CUP of soup arrives--it is cold and there is no spoon. We wait. Finally I go up to the open kitchen counter and ask for a spoon and a hot bowl of soup (nicely--and I mean that). The owner comes rushing out yelling at us and kicks us out of the restaurant!!!! Seriously there was no alcohol involved at my table. Unbelievable that an owner would kick a table of 50 year olds out of his restaurant just because we wanted a spoon! I didn't even argue with him--I was too afraid he would go ballistic. This guy needs help. So, if you want really great food and service go 10 minutes north on 43 and try some of the great places in Lake Oswego. Five Spice is awesome, The Terrace Kitchen, Tuccis, and Clarks are all outstanding. For the same price go someplace with great food, wonderful service, and you won't have to fear for your life.
