In the last few years Sunbear Salon has expanded services, remodeled their building, and started marketing to a more upscale clientele. There is nothing upscale, however, about their lack of customer service and unprofessional demeanor.
Recently, friends of mine who were long-time patrons of the salon have started to take their business elsewhere due to price increases and declining customer service. Today, I decided to give them one last shot and scheduled an eyebrow wax.
While the receptionist was friendly, I waited 20 minutes without anyone acknowledging the long delay. I approached the counter at which time the receptionist informed me that Ann had taken another client, even though I arrived to my appointment on time. I waited 10 more minutes for Ann in the lobby (I really needed a wax!), at which point she briskly greeted me and brushed off the fact that I had now been waiting half an hour. Once we had our consultation, she informed me that because I use a retinal cream, she was hesitant to wax my brows. I informed her that I had been using the cream for 8 months and had many eyebrow waxes since starting the cream. At this point I was ready to get out of there and suggested that I could get a wax somewhere else. She quickly interjected that she was refusing ME service, to which I should have responded, ""No. I am refusing YOU."" I left and will not be returning.
In this economic climate, no business can afford to provide second-rate customer service. If Sunbear wants to stay on top, customer service and professionalism come first.
