Today I couldn't find a decent sandwich shop on Northlake, because all that's around there are chains and I wanted a REAL deli sandwich. With all the traffic I was forced to turn south on Military and remembered Essie's! I haven't been to Essie's in a long time. Not sure how long they've been there but every time I've been, it's consistent and fresh. I had a delicious corned beef on rye-super!! So I noticed they had "Buttered Rolls" on the menu board so I asked, "Like they have in NY?" and yes was the answer. I haven't see any down here-ever. I am from Florida but when I went to NYC once, I had these and brought a bunch back-awesome!!! If you've never been to Essie's or never had a buttered roll, try it!
