I made a special trip to this store (~ 6 miles from my house) to use a coupon that expired that day (June 9th). I had two identical coupons for $5 off $25. When I got there I asked an employee if I could use both and she said that we could just break it into two transactions so I could use them both.
I then spent close to an hour picking out items for my house painting project. When I went to pay the cashier she started giving me problems about using both coupons. She said 'you can't use both' and 'you can't use it on any sale items'. I told her that I had specifically asked someone when I got there if I could use both so I didn't waste my time shopping and then not be able to use them. She said 'you should have asked a cashier. we're the ones who know.'
I'm sorry, but if someone is wearing a True Value shirt and obviously works there, I assume they are representing the business and if they can't answer my question they should direct me to someone else. The coupon also didn't say anything about not using it on sale items. The bitchy cashier told me that 'not valid in combination with other offers' implied I couldn't use it for sale items.
So, instead of spending over $50 I walked out of there spending $0 and having wasted an hour of my time. I should have asked for the manager but I was so pissed I just left.
I'll be spending that money at Home Depot and will never again go to Junction True Value .
