Candyland for Quilters 7/8/2011

For me this place is heaven. There are so many fabrics, threads and books I find my self wanting to go just to dream up new projects, or simply drool over the amazing array of beautiful colors and patterns. The staff is always friendly and more than willing to help plan a new project or give advice to us newbie quilters. I know other reviewers have given this shop a much lower rating because of the lack of organization and the lay out of the shop and forthe most part what they have said is true. The fabrics are loosely organized by color in one section, by style in another, and separate sections for the civil war era prints and 1930's prints. Now the fat quarters are EVERYWHERE. You will find them stuffed in random places all through out but the largest grouping is right in the middle and it is more like cacophony of color than anything. So if you are looking for a shop where you can go when you know exactly what you want and can get in and out in under 5 mins, this shop is not for you. BUT if you are like me and you enjoy the process of designing your quilt and selecting your fabrics as much as you do actually putting it together then Stitcher's Garden would suit you fine. It is like going on a treasure hunt every time I go in. Again not everyone would think that is a positive but I sure as heck do! more
