Was considering purchasing equipment there, thought I'd try the service first. Needed starter cord replaced, took it in. Picked it up one week later, got home, pulled cord- nothing. Called and talked to owner, was told it was working before I left. He finally told me to take lawnmower apart and bring starter assembly in to him and that he would ""look"" at it. Almost sounded like he was accusing me of breaking it. Decided enough is enough, took it to the Honda power equipment dealer where I purchased it- long drive, expensive shop but they know how to work on them. Mechanic told me that spring pack was put in backwards and had to be replaced now. Only $8 more total than what I paid Hwy9, and that included new spring pack too! I would have thought that Hwy 9 would know how to service Honda's as the Huskarvana mowers they sell are equipped with Honda engines, but apparently they don't have a clue.
Just a thought: If a service customer picks up a repaired item and has a problem, just tell them to bring it back without arguing. I can do the work myself but currently have a broken thumb- thats why I took it in. If you screw up repairing it and need to replace a $4 spring pack- suck it up. And if you quote a customer a price stick with it- raising the price without reason will not get you repeat business!
Save yourself the drama and go to a professional shop. Wish I had read the reviews first!
