On our 2011 family trip to Galveston we opted to go for a known name. In the wake of hurricane Ike we were finding a lot of mixed information on the internet about local hotels and businesses. (due to the fact many switched ownership/names or just have not rebuilt) The Four Points Sheraton did not disappoint. It was what I would expect from a Starwood property. Nice modern clean rooms, Comfortable beds, and very friendly staff. 5 Stars: The hotel is across the street from the ocean (as all are in Galveston) Easy walking access to beaches and dining. -0.75 star (which it did not score) It does not face the ocean therefore does not have balcony rooms. But ask yourself... how much time do I really spend on the balcony? I have noticed only a couple of mid-high end properties in Seawall that do, they do hold a much higher nightly rate as well. We used Starwoods 3rd night free promotion which you can find may great promotions for Starwood properties on the web. Would we stay here again ----YES----
