Terrible Fishing Charte 7/13/2011

I had a friend visit from out of town. We decided to book an inshore fishing charter through Captain Ward of Affinity Charters. I was very clear to him that we wanted to catch Red Fish, as my friend had never caught one before. Captain Ward said he would make it happen, and set us on our way. Well come to find out this would be the worst charter experience my friend and I had ever encountered. Our guide took the lead on the 17' flats boat. Meaning he was casting from the bow, so he was the first to cast along the banks as we drifted by, leaving us to cast in his already fished water. Not to mention that because he was on the bow, my buddy on the aft end, I was in the center forced to cast overhand vice a more accurate side cast. Our fishing guide appeared to be more into the fishing trip for himself rather than ensuring the fishing trip be about us. This was a $600 charter; it should be only about us! My buddy and I felt as if we were just tagging along on his trip. Our guide caught most fish and my buddy and I each caught a couple trout and flounder, even though I specifically asked to catch Red Fish. After the day ended, I called Captain Ward to tell him about our disappointing experience. Capt Ward apologized and offered me a $75 discount on my next fishing charter with him. Well John Ward, you can keep that offer as I will never book a charter through you again. more
