I got rear ended on the freeway and pushed into the vehicle in front of me (who took off). I didn?t know what to do. The tow truck driver towed my vehicle away and didn?t tell me where he was taking it (Later, Randy told me that I didn?t have to let the tow truck driver choose where to take my vehicle. I have the right to tell the tow truck driver where I want my vehicle towed. However, at the time, I didn?t know that.)
I called Randy Hurwitz because he was recommended to me by a friend who had the exact same thing happen to her. When I called Randy Hurwitz, even though it was during lunch time, they put me through to one of his accident investigators, Walter Rivera. He was very helpful and gave me lots of free help over the phone. He immediately contacted the towing service and found out where my Scion was. Walter got my car out of the storage yard and over to a body shop which provided me with a free loaner car that I could use to get to work and my doctor appointments. I really appreciated that! Especially because the insurance company for the driver who rear-ended me, never offered to get me a rental car. When I asked them about providing me with a rental, all the insurance adjustor did was come up with excuses on why he couldn?t do that.
He said that first of all, he needed to have a copy of the police report (which wasn?t going to be ready for 10 days!). Then after that, he said he needed to take a statement from his own driver that caused the accident and he was having a hard time getting a hold of the other driver.
Randy and his firm got me in a rental car the same day I called. That is how they helped me out!
I didn?t have health insurance, but Randy and his team leader, Jessica Chaparro, referred me to a pain management doctor as well as a regular doctor. I ended up getting physical therapy and chiropractic therapy, and with the pain doctors assistance, I got rid of my headaches which he said were a symptom of a concussion I had suffered. Randy, Walter, and Jessica, treated me like I was a friend instead of just a client. They got to know me and my whole family. I got to know Jessica and her sister Jasmine, who helps Jessica.
At the end of the case, they surprised me with a homemade cake, and for my settlement, after the doctor bills and attorneys fees were taken care of, I got more than I expected for my pain and suffering. Randy said it was because he makes sure that his clients see several top medical specialists who document ones pain and sufferings, so that the insurance company wants to settle the case rather than go to court. I told Randy I didn?t want to go to court, and he said that he settles 98% of all his clients? injury claims without filing a law suit or going to court. He was incredible!
