(1) You have to fill out a 10+ page self-evaluation form upon each visit. Each page is full of questions wanting you to score yourself on a scale of 1 to 5 for various issues. This survey gets annoying the 20th time you've filled it out, and only becomes important if your score for a category (depression, ADHD, etc) is in the abnormal range. In my experience, Dr. Mech and his PA's do not do anything with the form beyond that. The same information could be extracted from the patients themselves by Dr. Mech.
(2) Wait times are long and unpredictable if you turn in your self-evaluation after your scheduled appointment time. Get there 30 minutes early to get the form done on time. In my experience, this will ensure your wait time is only 30-ish minutes max. Otherwise, forget it... you'll probably be waiting upwards of 45 minutes to 2 hours.
(3) I get to see Dr. Mech every time personally ... if you develop a relationship with him, maybe you will too. Apparently he's pretty busy.
(4) He has toned down on over-medicating patients (probably due to the sanctions and random audits he faces now)
(5) Dr. Mech knows his stuff, there's no question about that after talking to him. He does speak way too fast to the point that it's hard or impossible to absorb what he's saying though.
(6) Your actual appointment with him will be around 5 minutes max unless you push him to stay longer.
(7) Staff are absolutely, completely incompetent... never return calls, usually do not follow up on anything unless you harass them over the phone several times, etc. This is my biggest complaint by far. Also, they are typically rude. Unprofessional. I don't know what the $#%* their problem is, especially since the staff has changed out several times already. The issues never go away.
(8) PA's aren't too bad...
