We had a problem with our second floor a/c unit. PAC claimed it was a dirty coil and that it would have to be removed (out of the crawlspace in the attic), acid washed and replaced. They said it was a 2 man job and that it would take all day. They quoted me a price of $1,800. Feeling that that was a very steep price, I got a second opinion from Bob Mims. Was told the coil did not need to be removed to be cleaned, and would take a couple of hours. Their price: $827. Some difference, huh? Mims came today and they were all done in an hour.
I would definitely never recommend Pac to anyone after this. Proves that getting a second opinion, even if it costs a little for the estimate, is worth it in the long run.
