The negative reviews posted here have me somewhat mystified. This hotel is an excellent choice given the rates and the location. If you're looking for a clean, large-ish, modern hotel room for a reasonable rate, in a quaint town on Lake Tahoe with every amenity within three blocks, all of which is a half hour from world class skiing, than the Pepper Tree is a sure thing. It delivers on everything you would want and could reasonably expect from a mid-range hotel. If you're looking for resort-style treatment then drop $300-$400 a night and stay in the village at Squaw. After having stayed at Pepper Tree, I can only think the negative reviews posted stem from expectations well beyond those which should be foisted on a hotel in this range. Stay here with confidence. I think this place is getting a bum rap on this site.
