I would seriously reconsider moving to this farm. I took lessons there for a short (very short) time. They displayed poor horsemanship and irresponsibility. The horses at this barn are pushed way beyond their limits, to a point where it becomes dangerous. The riders are also riding beyond their limits, especially when concerned with jumping. They seem more concerned with just getting the job 'done', instead of doing the job correctly. They focus more on the height of the jump rather than jumping safely and correctly. This is dangerous for both horse and rider. The instruction is less than desirable, with limited knowledge and safety in mind. The ""therapeutic riding program"" is less than standard. No where on the website do they say they are certified, which only leads me to believe they are not, due to yet again, the irresponsibility. The number of kids that fall off in a lesson is staggering. The concept of special needs children riding horses is wonderful, but should not be done in an environment such as this. When searching for a barn, PLEASE RECONSIDER BEFORE MOVING TO FIRST IMPRESSIONS. There are many other equine facilities that offer much better than this.
