We love the Birth Boutique!!!! (This is a long review because I have so many great things to share)
We are expecting our first baby and just finished taking all of Shari's classes. They were amazing, we feel so much more calm and prepared about being new parents. We found this store when we were about 7 months pregnant and we wish that we would have discovered them sooner.
Shari, Joe and their staff are all incredible! They are all so knowledgeable and we have learned so much from them in the short time that we have known them. The store is great, they only carry products that they themselves would use on their own children. As an expectant parent it is very overwhelming to go into a big box retailer with 1,000's of choices. We found it extremely helpful that they only carry the best of the best and there isn't an item in the store that the staff isn't knowledgeable on. All of the women are Mom's themselves and were once customers of the store. It's great to talk to people who know what you need and what you are going through. We found their prices to be fair and their customer service is exceptional. We always leave the store having a positive experience.
I?ve had bra fittings at other stores (a popular maternity store and Nordstrom) and nothing compared to having a fitting with Shari. Most stores only carry up to a DD Cup with most ?Larger cup? styles all having underwire. I was very uncomfortable and started to hear bad things about wearing underwire, especially while breastfeeding. The Birth boutique was able to fit me properly with the correct bra (no underwire) and actually had my larger size in stock (The other two stores fit me with the wrong size and with underwire). They also had a variety of different styles, brands, colors and price ranges to choose from. I?ve had a large chest and have worn underwire since I was 14 and have had many bra fittings, this was the best experience I have had so far.
We took all of the classes that they have to offer, we loved all of them and wish that there were more. Being pregnant with our first child, we went into the classes a bit nervous with lots and lots of questions, especially regarding Breastfeeding. It was a relief to find out that most of the people in the class also shared similar fears about breastfeeding because we all knew people that weren?t successful at it. After learning Shari?s method and then going home with her DVD program as backup we are now confident that we are going to be able to breastfeed exclusively for at least a year if not more.
We also learned things that no other classes will teach you. Things like different calming techniques and how to properly swaddle and burp your baby and they actually used real infants not dolls, it was amazing to see these little babies go from fussy and crying to happy and content. We also learned Infant CPR, what to expect in the hospital on the first day, including vaccines and medications. We learned about all of the toxins that we are unknowingly exposed to and how to make better healthier choices for our child. We even learned how to properly strap the baby into the car seat because the hospital is not allowed to show you. And so much more.
I am recommending that all of my pregnant friends come to the store and take all of their classes. They are a great resource for new parents and the knowledge that they have shared with us and that we have gained from them has been invaluable!
