I'm writing about unethical vehicle inspection procedures used by Pep-Boys inc. located on South Willow street Manchester N.H.\r
In April of 2011, after the initial inspection, I was presented a list of repair items that was needed for the vehicle to pass inspection. After returning home and doing my own mechanical work I discovered that all the parts that they recommended to be replaced were in fact within manufacturers specifications. The items were a left front rotor and a lower front ball joint. The service advisor told me the failure was due to gouging and could not give me an accurate description of what the failure tolerances were, in fact, didn't give any measurements what so ever. They told me that resurfacing the rotor would be fine. I measured the rotor at 1.158" with a .012" gouge around the braking surface. \r
