Since February of 2010 when my horse almost died of colic, I take all of our animals to Loomis Basin for emergency and routine care. I expect emergencies to occur with an animal and plan ahead by ensuring I have health insurance or I save money aside so I can afford to pay for emergencies if they arise. That is my obligation to my animal family members, otherwise I should find them a better owner. I went into human medicine to help people, but I also expect fair compensation for my hard work. I expect the same of any professional in the animal medical field. I compared prices and found Loomis Basin prices to run in the upper middle range for local vets. I LIKE the environment and medical staff better than anywhere else I've been. I don't think they would have the exemplary medical staff or the beautiful facility if their prices ran on the lower end of the local price range.
