A Real Review From A Real Dad 4/11/2011

So 12 5 star reviews nice and evenly spaced out in the last 4 months....... hmmmmmm OK Brenda...... Warning #1: Beware the contract. They demand a minimum of two months notice. If you do not like the care they are providing, it is very difficult to leave. If you do, make sure is before the first of the month because if you give notice on April 2nd, you are subject to Three months notice! Even if you hate the place. The average withdrawl notification for nearby daycares is 2 weeks to 1 month. When you get substandard care, it is difficult to leave. Warning #2: Price is negotiable We learned that other parents were recieving discounted rates. We felt uncomfortable that we were paying more than other parents for the same care. Warning #3 Our child was not provided appropriate age related activities. Our child was significanlty older than the children in his class and was not being provided appropriate stimulative activites. We expressed our concern and desire for our child to advance to the next class. We were told that Blossom Station was going to hire a new teach for that classrom (which was currently empty) and our child would advance. This was continously delayed. Blossom Station hired that teacher and decided to place her into Pre-School classes rather than open the room we were promised. Blossom Station did not inform us. We found out though other teachers. We feel that Blossom Station was making staffing decions based on the their needs, not our child's needs. We were not compfortable with the staff tunover. Our child had five separate primary teachers in thirteen months. Only one of the teacher changes was due to advancing to a new classroom. Warning #4 Dropoff conditions made us feel uncomfortable. We dropped off our child into the ""Infant One"" room which was designated for the youngest infants. Our son is/was a toddler being careed for by the same teachers responsible for the youngest of babies. Also, we often found that the infant/teacher ratio was exceded during dropoff hours. The staff often places the toddlers into highchairs during these hours. Warning #5 Pickup condition made us feel uncomfortable. Blossom Station places all of the toddlers into multi-toddler strollers at the end of the day. Our average pickup time was 5:30pm. If we were to run late, our child would be subject to long periods in the stroller. The stroller would be placed in the reception area for the parents to pick them up. They would be superviesed by the desk area personel. more
