My husband and i were walking around one afternoon last week and we came upon Route 9. We live in Coral Gables and had never heard of this restaurant. It is a store front restaurant, simply and tastefully decorated. It is the sort of neighborhood restaurant you find in New York or Chicago that only you and your neighbors know about and don't want to share with the rest of the city for fear it will get too busy. We decided we would try the restaurant a few evenings ago. We read some mixed reviews and we were somewhat hesitant, but decided to go. I am so glad we did. I had perfectly cooked salmon over spinach and an arugula salad with beets (I would have liked a few more beets), and my husband had a delicious hamburger (so he reported, I do not eat beef). I tasted his fries because they looked so good and they were. We also ordered a side of brussel sprouts and they were excellent. Based on what we ate, it was a great experience for food, and friendliness of the wait staff and the owner. I would like to keep this to myself, but it wouldn't be fair.
