I lived here for several years and found it to be a nice, quiet place to live. The apartments are old and could stand to be updated, but neighbors were nice and the maintenance staff was wonderful. When I moved out, I discovered Brandywine management's dirty little secret: they are thieves. Somehow, over the years, they have gotten away with stealing people's security deposits. If you are unaware of the law, you should know that it is illegal for a landlord to keep a tenant's security deposit, minus any legitimate costs for damages exceeding wear and tear. I have to wonder how many thousands of dollars this agency has stolen from its tenants simply because it states in its lease addendums they are allowed to keep your security deposit. They are not permitted to do this, regardless of what their lease agreement says. All tenants should know this, and if they refuse to give you your money back, at the very least, file a civil complaint with the North Versailles magistrate for double the amount of your original security deposit, as allowed under the law. This is theft, people, plain and simple, and criminal fines and penalties should be imposed upon this agency. Don't let Brandywine get away with these criminal actions.
