The inspection they performed on my house was a joke. I was the homeowner not the buyer and sort of feel sorry for the buyer. Not that there was anything wrong with the house. It’s just that the buyers got ripped off. The inspector said “The gutters are currently full of leaves …”. One gutter on one side of the house with a lot of trees had leaves in it. He found some “abandoned wiring” in the basement near the steps that was a ‘safety’ problem. Actually this was wiring that I had pulled for a future light fixture. It was not connected to the electrical system at all and this was clear as you could see both ends. And this cracked me up: “Rear hose faucet not operational.” It was checked off as a ‘Frost Free’ exterior hose bibb. Guess what? It is not frost free and that is why it was turned off at the valve in the basement under the sign that says ‘Turn off in winter’. He also called cast iron pipe ‘galvanized’. And “1st floor half bath electrical receptacle has no power.” Guess why? It was a GFCI that had been tripped. If you push the little ‘reset’ button it works perfectly. He also said the new double hung replacement windows were ‘single hung’. I was also surprised he described the shower enclosure in the master bath as ceramic when it was fiberglass panels. And he said nothing about the driveway needing to be sealed. What a waste of money for the buyers. Nothing was uncovered of significance and stuff was missed.
