Went here as somewhat of a last resort to replace my fiance's car after having no luck at dealerships. We were unable to go to the public viewing so were unaware of the condition of the vehicles they sell here.
So we are waiting in the auction area, and a jeep comes through that looks decent enough. The tachometer display was no longer functioning correctly so the mileage was inaccurate, but she wanted to bid anyways. The owner assured us that the vehicle was in great condition, and said he had been driving it around for his own transportation for a month. She decided to bid on it and won.
It was dark when we left the auction that night, so I was unable to see everything under the hood. The next morning, I pop the hood and find oil all over the sides and rear of the engine, and a trail leading to and covering the transmission housing. After closer inspection, I find there is oil in the radiator coolant, and coolant in the engine oil. This is the sign of a blown head gasket. Keep in mind, this is a very slow leak. A fast leak covering that much area would have drained most of the engine oil and it wouldn't run at all.
We took it to a mechanic to find out what else is wrong with it and got an estimate of total cost for repairs which added up to $3900. That's more than she paid for the stupid jeep!!!!!!! We contacted the owner and he denied he sold us a vehicle with a blown head gasket, only to try and reverse it and say she blew it on the drive home.
I'll include a list of things that were wrong with the vehicle BEFORE purchase, which we were not notified of upon sale.
-Blown head gasket
-Hole in radiator large enough to easily notice
-Radiator power wire hooked under oxygen sensor fuse so it would still run
-No airbag in steering wheel assembly
-Fuel tank pushed forward from a rear collision which is causing it to rub on the rear stabilizer bar
-Rear axle leak
-Drive belt is cracked
-large crack in the side of exhaust manifold
-and lastly, an old dirty battery taken from some random vehicle other than the jeep
I found the carfax for this vehicle after getting the estimate only to find out it has been in 2 different accidents. 1 in front and another in the back. I am under the impression this vehicle was totaled out by an insurance company and fixed by this jerkoff so he could make a quick buck off some poor unsuspecting person in need of a car.
To sum all this up, DO NOT BUY from this idiot. He will rip you off the first chance he gets. We are currently talking to a lawyer to make him pay for some of the repairs or buy it back. I will not be going back to this place, because I don't want to be arrested for beating him to a bloody pulp.
