I brought my Santa Fe for inspection. I had some belt issues (slippage) and was using belt dressing. The mechanic told me that my power steering pump had failed and I needed to replace it for a cost of $700 in parts plus labor. I told it was just the spray, but he, and the service department manager, would not listen. They told me that if I did not have the repair done, they would not pass my car for inspection. I took the car to Meineke. They told me there was nothing wrong with the power steering but that I should replace the worn belt soon. They said I easily passed inspection. Beware of service shops that try to talk you into unnecessary repairs.
