BEWARE of Hudson Crossing... 4/9/2011

Warning, Hudson Crossing is a trap. They raised my rent by 24%-30% (1 year lease/2 year lease) after the first year. The leasing agent is very misleading and will say anything to get you to sign a lease. She lied about how much the rent would increase after the first year (she said no more than $50-100), she lied and said you could bring guests to the gym, and she did not disclose to me that although my apartment is rent stabilized, the legal registered rent is over $5,200 on a STUDIO I was paying $1965 for (therefore they can increase the rent as much as they want as long as it's below the legal registered rent). They advertise a ""state of the art"" gym, but the equipment is wobbly and very poorly maintained. Lastly, they do not inform you that 100 of the building's 250 apartments are what they call ""corporate housing"" - but it's really just a legal loophole they've found to turn the building into a short-term hotel for tourists. Every day you will see tourists dragging in tons of luggage. They bumble around the elevators and occupy the front desk staff endlessly. There are so many tourists staying there that the doorman can't keep track of who is who, so guests never get announced, they just get sent up. All of this is to say, Hudson Crossing is not a ""luxury"" building, except for the price. I'm just happy to be leaving more
