Yes, the apartment itself was a deal that I couldn't pass up, but the building itself was very neglected. The hallways always smelled atrocious and looked dingy. Roaches and rodents were not uncommon - including inside the apartment.
The most unimpressive thing about Sassouni, however, is the lack of customer service. It's always frustrating when you feel like you're being ignored, and Sassouni Management deserves a prize for that! You're lucky if you can get someone from the management company on the phone, but when you do establish contact, don't be surprised when you are condescended to, yelled at, or even hung up on. It really was astonishing and pathetic.
