I used to go to Lenscrafters for years & always got my glasses in 1 hr at a fair price.Twice now I've gone in & been told it'd take 2-3 WEEKS to get my glasses made (bifocals) & the price was outrageous. Even my insurance company no longer works w/ them, citing 'poor response'.
The last pair I had made (before I wised up)took 3 MONTHS d/t the glasses were so badly made. The prescription wasn't right, the frames broke b4 the tech even got them fit on me. I had to return them 3x & finally got a refund (372.49).
Now I go to EyeMasters @ Richmond Mall .
For 159.00 I got 2 pair cash [cheaper than using my insurance ]& both glasses are absolutely perfect. Best of all, no nonsense about 3 week waits for 'special lenses'! I left EyeMasters w/my 2 pr of special order glasses in just 54 minutes.
I don't know what happened to the Lenscrafters Co. They don't keep their much advertised 'glasses in 1 hr' promise nor do the staff apologize for it. Inconveniencing customers by delays, poor workmanship and no quality assurance lost them a 10 yr customer.
If I could give them NO stars I would. - they did everything wrong & none of the staff seemed to care. FYI: it's the same at their Richmond Mall store - so I must assume this is Lenscrafters new 'business model' - buyer beware!
