I've been familiar with this matchmaking service for some time now from friends of mine who went and had a really good time. I finally relented and decided to join them just before Halloween last year. I kept promising to go and would find any excuse to flake on my friends. ""You guys don't understand what it's like being a full-time Med Student"" was my favorite flake line. Finally I gave in and felt like a complete drama queen for making such a big deal out of such a cool thing. The first night i went the event was in Santa Monica at a restaurant called Zino. I was super nervous. As in super, super nervous. I opted for the make-over before the event and quickly opted for large cosmo while I nervously waited. The staff and makeup artists could tell I was a bit out of my comfort zone and did all they could to get me to settle into the night. It was really weird, I started the dates with the guys and in an instant, totally relaxed. It probably didn't hurt to have my friends next to me, the nice hosts and most of all, the large cosmo which seemed to settle me right in. My friend tipped me off that they do this promotion thing where they hide a cute bear during the event and if you find it you get a 50 dollar credit to return. I might of cheated a bit because the tables my friends and I were at happened to be right next to the hosts so we could see where they hid it. I admit, we cheated. But in doing so we got to come back. Yay! The first night I went I liked a few of the gentleman and had a match with one. We returned a few weeks later and I did much better at Geisha House in Hollywood; Thank you very much. We're trying to coordinate a night again before the end of the month or beginning of April which I'm super excited about. I still feel silly for giving my friends such a hard time about going. I get asked out on dates at school, but hey, I'm not exactly in date mode at school so finding a place where I can let my hair down and meet some great men is a place I can't get enough of.
