The return policy is apparently written in stone. My son didn't want to hurt my feelings by telling me that he already had an iPod docking station like the one I gave him for Christmas. When I realized it wasn't being used, I was past the 30 day mark in trying to return the item -- unopened, unharmed, and an item that is still on the shelf for sale at the same price I paid. I never requested a refund. I asked for a store credit so I could apply it to a purchase for my daughter's birthday later this month. No deal. ""Nothing we can do for you.""
For no real reason that I can see they lost all future business from my family. Apparently they don't care because no one bothered to even talk with me about it. (Supposedly the situation was taken to ""two managers."")
