After not going for there for years, my wife & I celebrated our anniversary at Jakes. The first thing missing was the crackers & cheese they used to serve at the bar. The second thing missing were the people filling the place up on a Friday night.
The atmosphere & service were as good as years ago but the food was not. The $38 bone in ribeye was very tough as was my wife's. It was listed as Angus Beef but if it was, the steer was training for a marathon because I've eaten a lot of Angus and this was te toughest. Pretty sad wen thisnhappens at a high end steak house. I feel bad for the bartenders & server because their great service was overshadowed by the steak.
