AWFUL, EXPERIENCE, ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE...The bridesmaid dress chosen was a style by Jim Hjelm. After being reassured by not one but three different sales associates from Pearl's that they had the style in the store, I drove to New Orleans. I had an appointment and showed up for it but was met with what can only be described as pandemonium. After searching the store for almost three hours and enlisting the help of three different sales associates, I am told that ""you thought you had the dress but you guess you do not."" Thanks for nothing. I searched the entire state for retailers that carry Jim Hjelm and finally find a store in Lake Charles that has the dress. The store was unwilling to negotiate much on the price so I called Pearl's and was given a much better price. I was never once told about the ""No Service Discount"" or that I would have to use one credit card or the fact that any dress over a size 16 would have a $30-$50 surcharge. None of that was ever mentioned to me on the phone or through my email correspondence prior to ordering. I was sent a size chart from 2005 and guidelines for the measurements. I have all the measurements except for one but this bridesmaid is going to New Orleans so she wants to just get measured at Pearl's, order and pay for her dress. I call Pearl's to let them know this and find out that they will NOT measure her nor will they let her pay for just her dress, all of the dresses have to be on one credit card. Thank you, Pearl's, for letting me know nothing about your absolutely ridiculous ordering and measuring policies. After receiving the final measurement, I call Pearl's ready to order. I have all of the information for each bridesmaid and have given you the credit card number; this is when you decide to tell me about the $30-50 charge on dresses over size 16. I have no choice but to say okay so the dresses are ordered and my bridesmaids are slightly pissed and embarrassed. Thank you again Pearl's for lacking any resemblance of customer service. I received an email from Pearl's with my order details and shipping information. The following is an excerpt and can be described as nothing other than a complete lie. Someone is required to sign for the package, we would never ship so important an item without requiring a signature. So you must be sure and also advise your maids that this address is in our file and if a change is necessary they have to let us know. Also make sure you give us the phone number at the address we are shipping to as UPS will call you when they are about to deliver. My bridesmaid's dresses were left on doorsteps and in the rain-no signature required nor was a phone call ever made to alert them of delivery even though a phone number associated with each address was given. So thank you again Pearl's for having no clue what customer service is. You have truly made dealing with your store unbearable. I wish that was the end but sadly it is not. The three bridesmaids that were charged the $30-$50 surcharge, their dresses were three sizes too big. Which means that one of my bridesmaids should not have paid the $30 and my two other bridesmaid should have only been charged $30 rather than $50. If you had any knowledge of this brand or any idea about the sizing you should have had the decency to pass that information along to the consumer. I am letting you know the issues with the size chart so you do not continue to let down your customers. Maybe in the future Pearl's might even learn what customer service is because what I received from Pearl's was simply pathetic and has been the worst part of my wedding planning experience. I will never recommend Pearl's to anyone and will be sure to pass along this horrible ordeal to everyone. I sincerely hope Pearl's makes some necessary changes so future brides do not have this same experience. Their response to me was: ""After reveiwing your order and all I do not see that we did anything wrong in this matter.""
