4 days till the Fire Department 2/25/2011

Cooltron was called to repair a heating issue on a rental property unit on a Friday. Sometime before leaving, the technician told the resident that the unit "might smoke". On Tuesday, the resident had to call the Fire Department because of the amount of smoke in her apartment. The part Cooltron installed had failed and burned up (luckily, the unit did not catch on fire and no one was hurt). After receiving a bill for $238.00 for the "repair", Cody at Cooltron was notified of the incident. Cody's response was that Cooltron was not responsible and that they do not warranty the electrical parts they install. Cody went on to say that Cooltron would not take anything off the bill showing 2 hours because they were actually there for 4 hours but that billing 4 hours for what was done would have been ridiculous. I don't know what has happened to businesses not taking responsibility for the work they do but I know I won't be calling them to any rental (or personal) property after this. more
