From reading some of the earlier reviews, I was hesitant to stay here. However, I am so glad that I chose the Comfort Suites Lakeside. Some of the reviews that people wrote were absolutely absurd. All-Inclusive drinks?
This is Houghton Lake, Michigan, not the Bahamas. Whoever wrote that should be banned from ever staying in a hotel.
Everything, from start to finish, was absolutely amazing. The waterpark was fantastic, my kids absolutely loved it. The lazy river, the water slide, the hot tubs, kid's pool. The tiki bar in the waterpark was a delight I did not count on.
The FREE deluxe continental breakfast, with belgian waffles, muffins, cereal, juice coffee, milk, etc.. was better than I have had in a lot of restaurants, let alone hotels.
Speaking of restaurants, the restaurant in the hotel, was absolutely stunning. The menu was fantastic, and the chef certainly takes a lot of pride in his work. One of the best dining experiences I've ever had, from their signature drinks to their 2 lb. lobster tail and 3 lb. steak for dinner.
The rooms were absolutely beautiful, with private balconies over looking the lake.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone, and hope that you will try it.
