Rude Manager with No idea of How to treat a customer. Huntsville, AL. I have been a member of Costco since they opened in Huntsville, and up to a recent experience things have been great. On our usual weekly shopping trip, one of the first things we do is to stop by the bakery and get the kids a cookie. Let me add, this is one of the highlights of our trip for them. The bakery team are always cheerful and great with the kids and the adults. On this visit my two year old couldn't wait to go to Costco and our seven year old will tolerate shopping with the thought of what cookies are available on arrival. When we got up to the counter the associate told us he couldn't open any more cookies and thus started the downward spiral. My son ask if he could please have a cookie and again we were told with regret he was unable to oblige. I was directed to the manager that decided to enforce this policy, who happened to be about 10 feet away. I went up and introduced myself to him and he just seemed bothered by my interrupting his conversation. I explained our ritual, and the situation, and was answered by him saying,"" Would I like him to open one of each thing in the department for my kids to eat?"" My son is crying at this point, my daughter is asking her mother why a cookie was such a problem. To say the least we were shocked at the response and such attitude in front of our kids and other customers. He could have simply offered the cookies and explained the change of procedure for future visits. I have found out since then he has implemented many more uncalled for polices for the good of the store, not the costumers. I asked for a name and number to his regional. They stood by him saying his actions were not the best approach, but was not out of order. I think others need to be aware of the lack of respect and downward spiral of customer service since this General Manager has taken over. I did tell him he was going to loose my business over a $6.00 box of cookies. He was not concerned. I did leave my full basket with him and let him know SAMs always has a cookie available for my kids.
