Most glasses places have ~2000 frames, and they all look alike. Next Eyewear has maybe a few hundred, but minus the boring stuff--they are ALL really cool! They carry brands like Paul Frank, OGI, Legre, Etnia Barcelona that are beautiful, interesting, and on trend.
Even better, the prices are VERY reasonable. Most frames cost ~$200. I don't think I saw any in there that were over $300; however, I did see a handful that were on sale for under $200.
The staff is knowledgeable and available to help, but not pushy or intrusive at all. It is a very laid-back atmosphere. Apparently, they can replace lenses in any frames, as long as the frames are in good shape. It doesn't even have to be a brand they carry. And unlike another place down the street, they did not try to sell me on the thinnest possible lenses--which would unnecessarily add $150 to the overall price--although they do have those lenses available. And since I can't live without my busted up glasses for the few days it'll take for the replacement lenses to come in, they offered to install the new lenses while I wait once they arrive--especially impressive given that they don't even carry my frames. I also appreciated that they told me how to avoid having to pay for replacement lenses in the future, even though they could obviously make money off of that service.
Finally, if you are not a contact-lens wearer, glasses shopping can be hard because you can't see how you look in the frames. These guys will take your picture in different frames and let you look at it on their computer monitor. Very helpful!
This unassuming little storefront hides a true gem!
