My fiance and I visited Molly's place with the intention of giving an unfortunate dog a loving home. With myself being a life long pet lover and my fiance the same, we went in prepared to leave with a new member of our family. We were initially impressed with the staff and their welcoming atmosphere of adoption candidates waiting to greet us.
Unfortunately what didn't impress us was their intention to take advantage of our big hearts by trying to charge us $500 for a mixed breed dog! WOW!!!! They attempted to justify their price by stating that the dogs have their shots, are spayed/neutered and have micro-chips. The reality though is that they get those services for most likely no more than $75 dollars, so where does the remaining $425 come from? Dog food? Not unless they are getting prime rib every day for months on end! The only service they are doing is too the owner's wallet! If they would lower their prices to most legitimate rescue's and asked for $100 to $200 they would find homes for these poor animals much quicker. We walked out of there torn due to our desire to give a dog a home, and need to take a stand and not contribute to the owner taking advantage of the country wide push to influence the adoption of needy animals. I think they have the opportunity to provide a great service, but unfortunately ruin it with greed.
