I understand using these guys if you are running late or something where its during those really weird hours and last thing you want is to hail an expensive NY cab, however, HELLLLO PEOPLE, this is the year 2011,no more excuses its a no-brainer:

Its the free-market folks, thousands have already been using this and still happily continue to use individual rideshares ALL the time!
forget about those sensationalized muckrackings, there are TONS of wonderful people mutually benefiting from rideshare services whether college students, commuters, retirees, etc, I love the fact that there still is a place where I CAN STILL NEGOTIATE how much I want to pay for the ride. Besides, what I spend usually goes directly towards the drivers gas and maintenance expenses she or he is not trying to rip me off.
Rideshares have been waaaaaaays cheaper than these commercial services. I have been using rideshares services as a great budget-minded alternative and never have looked back since.
If you are utilizing a SMARTphone, it really IS a no brainer. On several occasions, I have personally been able to find and negotiate prices for getting a ride literally WHILE THE PLANE was STILL FLYING, where I already setup where I wanted to meet this person, ALL THE WHILE BEFORE THE PLANE reached thearrival terminal gates.
Usually the night before or a couple of hours before flight, I'd have a rideshare available.
Try it sometimes folks, you really have nothing to lose, worst case scenario, you'd still be where you are: always have these more expensive commercial ""personalized services"" available to your disposal.
