I did not like my experience with this doctor's office. The best thing that I can say is that the office was new and very nice looking. There were no other patients when I showed up for my appointment. I had an issue right away with the front office staff over my insurance. I provided my insurance prior to my appointment but they didn't call to verify my benefits until I showed up. There was some issue so I had to pay up front and then get reimbursed from my insurance later. I had a decent wait time considering the office was empty. The office girls were a bit unprofessional as they stood at a window near the front desk chatting and giggling. Dr. Patel seems like an okay guy but has very poor bedside manner. He was a little disconnected, if that makes sense. He wanted to do some treatment at that appointment, but I opted to wait because of the insurance issue and not wanting to pay up front. When I changed dermatologists later, I found out that the treatment he wanted to do was a more invasive treatment that might have left scarring (on my face no less) and that there was an easier (and cheaper) route to try. I would not recommend this office, but I love my dermatologist in Chapel Hill, Dr. Kenneth Becker. He spent much more time in the room with me and answered all of my questions about what I thought was possibly skin cancer (but turned out not to be, thank god).
