Here's the story, we called on 2/16 at around 4PM to get the price of copper and we were quoted a price of $4.00 per pound for the shiny bright. On 2/17 we took our copper here at 9AM and unloaded and weighed the copper. We were paid, and upon payment I noticed they only gave $3.60 per pound for the shiny bright. I questioned the guy and he said copper went down $.40 a pound overnight. HMMMM. Right after questioning the guy on it, I had my father call and get a quote again. He was told copper went down $.10 the day before and $.10 more cents that day. Perhaps my math is not the greatest, but that only adds up to a $.20 drop from the quote he had gotten the day before, which was $4.00 per pound, putting the price of copper at $3.80 per pound, not the $3.60 that he had just given us. Perhaps $.20 per pound doesn't sound like much, but when you bring in 400-500lbs it adds up. Needless to say, I would check very carefully before taking any kind of scrap to this place.
